ABOUT
Kenton Drew Johnson is an award-winning cinematographer specializing in technical photography and cinematography, motion picture camera systems and cross-functional collaboration with both direct client and agency partners. He’s shot two feature films, as well as numerous short films, music videos, and commercials for clients including Sony, Marvel, and Walt Disney Studios. His body of work includes two CLIO Award-winning commercials: 2017’s Arrival: Common Ground (Arrival) and 2018’s A Quiet Theatre (A Quiet Place), as well as a 2019 Telly Award for Outstanding Cinematography for BumbleBee: Magic of Movies in partnership with Paramount Pictures.
Johnson also photographed the short film Across My Land, which was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. His cult horror feature, Dead Night, premiered at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX.
Johnson earned an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute and is a member of Local 600. He currently lives with his family in Los Angeles.
